Walking for water

Walking for water

This time last week 4 of our Sustain for Life supporters were getting ready for their London Marathon Walk.   With a 6:30am start on Saturday 22nd September, they made their way to the start of the Discover Adventure Marathon Walk at Borough Market.  The blustery British weather and torrential rain didn’t stop them from smiling the whole 26.2 miles, as they knew every step they took was raising funds to build a water tower for an Orphanage in Benin.     As if walking 26 miles isn’t enough, one supporter chose to carry 20kg on his back to represent the weight of water that many women carry on a daily basis in Africa.   A gruelling 9 hours later the 4 of them crossed the finish line having raised an amazing £1,000.   Supporters like this are invaluable to Sustain For Life and we couldn’t do the work we do without them, so thank you!
