Construction of 25 boreholes in Burkina Faso

Burkina Faso is facing droughts. The lack of water is creating a competition around the water points that brings conflict within communities. Women and children are the most affected, they spend a lot of time fetching water. The mortality among children under five is high.

Building 25 boreholes in rural communities will:

• compensate the inadequacy of drinking water points
• diminish the loss of time in the search for drinking water by women
• compensate for the lack of access to drinking water by some communities
• minimize conflicts between breeders and farmers
• create Income Generation Activities through the proceeds of the sale of water
