Victory Nursery and Primary School

Victory Nursery and Primary School is located in rural Uganda on the edge of the famous Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home of the endangered mountain gorillas. Over the years the school has gained confidence in the eyes of the public and grown to 124 pupils, mostly disadvantaged and many who have lost at least one parent.

The physical structure and classrooms are a major hindrance to quality education at Victory Nursery and Primary School, specifically leaking roofs and walls and insufficient space for the children. The fact that the school is bordering a rain forest is a challenge as rain showers are part of the daily menu. As a result children are forced to repair and plaster the walls which are falling apart in between classes.

Sustain for Life, in partnership with generous donors, have committed to fund the construction of new classrooms, kitchen and toilet block for the children as well as making repairs to the existing structures. We will also fund the gap in operation costs for the first year and aim to tie this with our Bwindi Hospital Gardens project, offering the children valuable teaching in sustainable agriculture.
