Naguru Remand Home

Sustain for Life is seeking funding for the children at the Naguru Remand Home rehabilitation centre in Kampala, Uganda. Our aim is to give unaccompanied children (mainly children from the streets, first-time offenders, and children who are orphaned, abandoned or have been affected by armed conflict) counselling, education, training and support to empower them to become self-reliant.

Vocational Training for a Self-Sustaining Future

This project is unique because of its multi-pronged approach to youth in conflict with the law. We seek to promote the fundamental human rights of the beneficiaries though legal assistance, provision of education and training, physiological and psychosocial support.

The two year project is expected to benefit 460 youths through psychosocial support, technical education and business skills training followed by apprenticeship and industrial placements, which will include housing, training, feeding, medication and post-vocational support. In the long run, we hope to guarantee employment and mitigate these youths’ susceptibility to risks related to poverty, marginalisation and deviant behaviour.

How You Can Help

A little funding will go a very long way in helping the children at Naguru Remand Home.  Your support will give marginalised and vulnerable youth the confidence and skills to look after themselves.
